May is Older Americans Month. The number of Americans 65 or older is one of the fastest growing age segments in the United States. With the aging of the baby boomer generation (those born between 1946 and 1964) this rapid growth will only continue. With aging comes different health related needs. NetWellness continues to add information, experts, and health topics to keep you going, many of them focused on the Senior Health!
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University Of Cincinnati College Of Medicine prides itself on excellence in patient care, education, and research. The department consists of over 20 full time faculty organized into the divisions of general obstetrics and gynecology, maternal fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and gynecologic oncology.
Faculty play an active role in educating medical students, residents, and fellows. In addition to a well recognized residency program, post residency fellowship opportunities are available in maternal fetal medicine and reproductive endocrinology. The department also supports an active research program that ranks nationally in funding from the National Institutes of Health and also serves as one of only 40 sites nationwide of the NIH sponsored Women's Health Initiative. The faculty of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology provide care to all patients who seek its professional expertise in the areas of obstetrics, gynecology, high-risk obstetrics, adolescent gynecology, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology, infertility, and menopause.
