Rama Jayanthi, MD, earned his undergraduate and medical degree from the Ohio State University. He completed a surgical internship at the University Hospitals of Cleveland followed by urological training at the Albany Medical College, in Albany, New York. He subsequently completed his pediatric urology training at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. He joined the medical staff of Columbus Children's Hospital in July, 1994. Dr. Jayanthi is certified by the American Board of Urology, and is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Urological Association. He also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Urology at the Ohio State University Medical Center.

His clinical and research interests include all aspects of pediatric urology but have most recently focused on promoting and expanding minimally invasive surgical techniques in children. These include the development of a comprehensive laparoscopic program for the management of ureteropelvic junction obstruction, duplex renal anomolies and vesicoureteral reflux. He has a personal interest in international health and frequently travels overseas to teach pediatric urologists and surgeons in developing countries medical and surgical management of complex urological problems.
