Donna Dowling received her B.S. in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University. She also received her master’s in Pediatric nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. Dowling received her PhD in Nursing from the University of Illinois in 1996. She is currently a member of multiple associations including the Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, and the Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science. Dowling is currently doing research on Self-Regulatory Infant Care: Adaptation Post birth. Dowling is also the project director of the Center for Excellence in Population-Based Pediatric Nursing. She is currently a Nursing Professor at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing. Donna Dowling has won awards from the National Center for Nursing Research, National Research Service Award for her research on “Responses of Preterm Infants to Enteral Feeding” in 1991. She also received a Top Prof award from the Mortar Board Society of Case Western Reserve University in 1997. She is currently working with NetWellness to introduce information about breast feeding and neonatal care.
