David D’Alessio, M.D. joined the University Of Cincinnati Division Of Endocrinology in 1999 and is Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine. He did his fellowship training in endocrinology, metabolism and nutrition at the University of Washington and served on the faculty there for 7 years. Dr. D’Alessio directs a research program focused on insulin secretion and the abnormalities in this system in people with diabetes. He is also a member of the UC obesity research center. Dr. D’Alessio is a staff physician at the Cincinnati VA hospital where he sees patients in the diabetes and endocrinology clinic.
