Dr. Kraut earned his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at University of Pittsburgh and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at The Ohio State University. Dr. Kraut joined the faculty at The Ohio State University in 1975.

Dr. Kraut’s research is focused on developing treatments for hemophilia. As the Director of the Benign Hematology Program, Dr. Kraut has dedicated his clinical practice to the treatment of benign blood diseases. His practice also includes lymphoma.

Dr. Kraut is a member of the benign hematology team which includes Dr. Spero Cataland and Dr. Michael Stanek. He is also a member of the leukemia/lymphoma team which includes Dr. John Byrd, Dr. Kristie Blum, Dr. William Blum, Dr. Charles Eisenbeis, Dr. Sherif Farag, Dr. Thomas Lin, Dr. Guido Marcucci and Dr. Pierluigi Porcu.
