Mildred (Mimi) Lam, M.D., is a nephrologist who specializes in the care of patients with chronic kidney disease, including patients who are on dialysis. She is an associate professor of medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and is based at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Oberlin College and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and did her internship and residency in internal medicine at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital. She did a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Oklahoma and has subsequently served as a faculty member at both MetroHealth and the University of Virginia. Her clinical interests include acute and chronic kidney disease, hypertension, dialysis, and disorders of fluid and electrolyte balance. She has a special interest in medical education, and teaches renal physiology and clinical medicine to medical students at Case Western Reserve University and to residents at MetroHealth.
