Dr. Julia Gore Thornton is a Gastroenterologist at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a specialist involved in the diagnosis and management of patients with diseases of the intestines, liver, biliary tree, and pancreas. She also has special training in endoscopic procedures to help diagnose and further treat these disorders. Dr. Thornton is currently a Senior Instructor at the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, teaching medical students and doctors in training and supervising their practice with patients with gastrointestinal disorders. Her research interests focus on the barriers to patients undergoing colon cancer screening. She received her bachelor’s degree from Yale University, and her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University. She also received a Master in Public Health (MPH) degree from The University of Washington in order to further pursue her research interests of improving the effectiveness of health care delivery to patients.
