Lee E. Ponsky, MD, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester, and his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He undertook an internship in general surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, and in 2003 he completed his residency in urology there. Afterwards he extended his education to include two fellowships, in urological oncology research and advanced endoscopy, also at the Cleveland Clinic.

After completing his formal training, Dr. Ponsky joined the Department of Urology at Case Western Reserve University where he is an Associate Professor. His research and clinical interests include CyberKnife procedures, robotic-assisted surgery, urologic oncology, and minimally invasive treatments for genitourinary cancer and adrenal lesions.

Dr. Ponsky also contributes his medical expertise to perform public service as a volunteer. He is the Founder and President of MedWish International, a non-profit organization that collects unused medical supplies from area hospitals, and makes them available to people traveling to developing countries.
