Dr. Jose I. Arauz-Dutari is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the School of Dental Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, where he teaches at the graduate (specialty residents) and undergraduate (dental students) level. He served as a staff Periodontist and a Consultant in Periodontology and Dental Implants at the Department of Dentistry of The Cleveland Clinic. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Arauz-Dutari received his dental degree from the University of Panama, School of Dentistry, and also, from Case Western Reserve University, School of Dental Medicine. He completed a 2-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry and General Practice Residency, and received his specialty certificate in Periodontology from the University of Rochester / Eastman Dental Center, Rochester, New York. His specialty interests include periodontal wound healing and regeneration, bone regeneration, periodontal plastic surgery, multi-disciplinary esthetic cases, dental implants, and periodontal medicine (periodontal-systemic disease connection). Dr. Arauz-Dutari is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, the Midwest Society of Periodontology, the Cleveland Society of Periodontists, the American Dental Association, the American Dental Education Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Greater Cleveland Dental Society.
