Dr. Stanek earned his doctor of osteopathy degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at Tulsa Regional Medical Center and his fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Stanek joined the faculty at The Ohio State University in 1995 from private practice.

Dr. Stanek’s clinical practice is dedicated to the treatment of benign hematologic disorders, including anemias, clotting disorders, and Thrombocytopenia. As the leader of the hospital consult service for the division, Dr. Stanek is an active teacher and mentor. He is a member of the benign hematology team which includes Dr. Eric Kraut and Dr. Spero Cataland.
