Melissa Drum received her undergraduate training from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities finishing in 2000. Melissa then entered dental school at the University of Minnesota under the early admission program and completed her DDS in 2004. While in dental school, her research interests included endodontic retreatment and the cannabinoid effects on tumor cell proliferation. Dr. Drum finished the endodontic program at The Ohio State University in 2006 receiving a certificate in endodontics and a MS for research involving morphine analgesia. She joined the faculty following her endodontic residency as a new tenure-track faculty member. Dr. Drum is currently contributing to the anesthesia literature and actively developing her own research focus. She is Board Eligible having passed the written exam in 2006 and is continuing on the path to become board certified. Her primary focus is on the education of dental students and curriculum development with a further emphasis on the dental community through continuing education courses.
