Carmen M. Hadley, RPh, CSPI is affiliated with the Central Ohio Poison Center at Children’s Hospital, 700 Children’s Drive, Columbus OH 43205. With her extensive specialized experience in toxicology, Ms. Hadley has successfully completed all requirements to become a Certified Specialist in Poison Information. She is able to accurately assess poisoned patients over the telephone and assist in the development of a treatment plan, both for caregivers at home and health care professionals. Health care providers benefiting from this service include emergency department physicians and nurses, paramedics and other first responders, disaster response personnel, primary care and occupational health physicians, and pharmacists. Ms. Hadley is a clinical faculty member for the student experiential program at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. Ms. Hadley previously served in the Pharmacy Department in Children’s Hospital. The inpatient team prepared pediatric drug doses, monitored drug therapy and provided intravenous admixture and nutritional support services. Professional memberships include The American Association of Poison Control Centers and Ohio Pharmacists Association. In the field of clinical toxicology, Ms. Hadley has contributed to research presented at the North American Congress of Clinical Toxicology’s annual scientific meeting and published in peer reviewed journals. She served on the Abstract Review Committee and the SPI Exchange Committee for the American Association of Poison Control Centers. Ms. Hadley holds a B.S. Pharmacy degree from The Ohio State University.
