Salim M. Hayek, MD, PhD received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in 1991. In 1992 Dr. Hayek completed a transitional internship at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Dr. Hayek stayed on at Henry Ford to finish another year of residency in Internal Medicine and start one in Anesthesiology, which he completed at University Hospitals of Cleveland in 1997. Dr. Hayek then completed a PhD in Cellular Physiology at Case Western Reserve University in 2001. In 2002 he went on to finish a clinical fellowship in Pain Management at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Hayek is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine.

Dr. Hayek is currently the Chief of the Division of Pain Medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland and an Associate Professor in the Case School of Medicine.
