Robert A. Salata, MD, is the Division Chief of Infectious Disease and HIV Medicine, and Vice-Chair for International Affairs at the Department of Medicine, University Hospitals of Cleveland. He is also a Professor with appointments in the Infectious Diseases Division and the Department of International Health and Biostatistics and Epidemiology. Dr. Salata is Director of the Infectious Disease Fellowship at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland, OH. Dr. Salata is interested in HIV-1 and sexually transmitted infections, infectious diseases, nosocomial infections, orthopaedic infections, sepsis, transplant infections, travelers' medicine. His research includes clinical trials of antiretrovirals and immunomodulators in HIV-1 infection as well as epidemiological studies and interventions associated with HIV-1 prevention.
