According to AgingStats.Gov, the United States population over the age of 65 totaled approximately 37 million people in 2006. This number is expected to almost double by the year 2030. As this population grows, it is important to provide valuable health information to older adults and their families for support and encouragement.
Almost 20% of Americans over 55 experience mental disorders that are not considered to be a normal and healthy part of the aging process, as reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
