When is the Best Time of Day to Take Coenzyme Q10?

01/13/2005

Question:

Every morning I take .625 mg of Premarine, and I take calcium with magnesium, Milk Thistle, and vitamin D and Omega 3, 6 and 9 twice a day with my meals. I recently started taking 60mg of co-enzyme Q10 once a day tablets. I would like to know add this and is it okay to take together, at the same time with my other medications and supplements? Thank you.

Answer:

There haven’t been any studies to asses the best time of day to take CoQ10.  It has been reported to interfere with medications for lowering cholesterol and blood sugar (actually these medications can lower the effectiveness of CoQ10), and warfarin.  I found no evidence that it interacts with the medications you are taking.
