Healing a fractured rib09/11/2006 |
How long does it take to heal? I had a work related injury almost 18 mths ago. Only finding out now that rib was fractured,bone scan and a rib cone down,Told 5th rib is fractured. I`v also had radiation on left side,breast cancer.
Rib fractures should heal within several weeks to months. A nonhealing fracture should be evaluated further especially with your history of breast cancer. Metastatic cancer can cause fractures that do not mend normally. You should review the results of the bone scan and rib xrays with your physician and determine whether any further evaluation is indicated.
