Long period after breastfeeding03/29/2007 |
I stopped breastfeeding about 3 weeks ago and got my period within a few days. I`ve had my period for 14 days now. Is this a normal problem since it`s been a year and 9 months since I had a period? Before childbirth, my periods were always very regular and lasted about 4-5 days.
Sometimes when your menses returns after birth or breastfeeding there can be some prolonged spotting because the regulatory hormones have not returned to their normal cycling. If the bleeding is more than just spotting I would suggest you see your health care provider. If it is spotting and continues much longer, again you should contact your provider.
