Infertility

Fallopian tube adhesions

06/21/2007

Question:

Do you think taking high dosages of Serrapeptase can help dissolve adhesions in my fallopian tubes? I would like to try alternatives to IVF, which I have done once before. Thank you.

Answer:

I am not aware of any medication which can non-surgically dissolve fallopian tube adhesions.  If the fimbria (fingers of the tube) are okay, surgical excision of the adhesions may be an option.  If the adhesions are extremely thick, with significant tubal damage to the fimbria, surgery would not be an option.  In those cases, IVF would be the only viable option.
