Abscessed tooth

07/05/2007

Question:

How can I relieve abscessed tooth pain until the antibiotics start working?

Answer:

Ask the dentist who prescribed your antibiotic to write a prescription for a pain medication. If this is not possible, over-the-counter Motrin is an effective dental pain medication. Follow the directions on the bottle.

If the pain is not gone after two days of taking the antibiotic according to the directions given, contact your dentist.
