Too frequent diarrhea02/20/2008 01:11AM |
My infant son has a stomach virus for 4-5 days. Last two days every diaper is diarrhea (mostly liquid now rather than actual poo. How many of these movements per day is normal before they become serious to his well being?
Infants and all children are susceptible to developing dehydration very quickly. If your son is having diarrhea for more than a a few days, and is not breastfeeding well, you need to take him to your health care provider.
There is not magic number to say, this is too many, a lot depends on your baby's age, and the presence of other symptoms. When in doubt you take him to his health care provider.
