Acupuncture and IVF

02/23/2008 11:39AM

Question:

I am a 41 year-old woman who just completed failed IVF (In vitro fertilization) cycle. I produced 12 eggs from 12 follicles. My fertilized eggs were actually pretty good (2 excellent, 5 very good to good) but by time of blastocyst transfer, only 3 okay to transfer (growth had slowed down). Acupuncture and IVF have been in the news lately. I am wondering whether acupuncture can help improve my eggs if we go through IVF again. My FSH (Follicle- Stimulating Hormone) was 6, but my estradiol was high. If TCM could help, what kind of protocol would you recommend? At my age, I don`t know if I can do the 3 months of acupuncture required that I`ve read about. Thank you.

Answer:

I do not know if TCM would help or not. You need to contact one of those type practitioners to be sure.
