Anesthesia |
Chest pains and myalgia03/20/2008 09:24AM |
I had laparoscopy and D&C on 3-19-08 at 11:35 and didn`t wake up until 2:00pm. I don`t know what they used for the GA (General Anesthesia) but it did cause myalgia as well as chest pains. I do not have any diagnosed heart or lung disorders. I do have severe GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) and a small hiatal hernia. The anesthesiologist did give me a strong antacid and I also took protonix prior to surgery. He also used a tube down the trachea which successfully prevented aspiration (I have not coughed nor do I have a sore throat). I know it has been less than 24 hours since the surgery but I am wondering if I should contact my doctor about the chest pain or if it is just a lot of heartburn? (although I can taste acid in my mouth with the heartburn, but haven`t had any acid reflux since before the procedure). Thanks!
