Hydronephrosis

04/27/2008 09:48PM

Question:

I was told that I have hydronephrosis in my left kidney. The urologist told me that my left kidney has little to no function left. Would it be better to see a nephrologist or keep seeing the urologist?

Answer:

I think your are OK with the Urologist. I would want to know how this happened and ask if it could happen to the other kidney. I would want to know if there is anything that can be done to preserve the little function that remains in the affected kidney.
