Unknown origin of severe rash

05/03/2008 09:51AM

Question:

For about 8 months now, I have had this extremely severe rash that just popped out of nowhere. No new laundry soaps, perfumes ,dish soaps, etc. were changed.I have tried steroid s,(shot and pills), calamines, caladryls, you name it, to no avail. It is "EXTREMELY" itchy, and appears red nodule,bumpy-like on the inside of my elbows, back of my knees, where my shoulder blade are, under my chin, legs, and now new places.I am at wits end to figure this out.I have no spleen due to a blood disorder, and taking Diovan for bp.Could this be the culprit? Thanks!

Answer:

Based simply on your history, it is impossible to determine what the cause of your rash is. You should consult a dermatologist or allergist at this point. A skin biopsy might be required.
