Environmentally induced seizures05/16/2008 12:33PM |
Can chemicals from the environment cause someone to have seizures?
In instances when someone is exposed to large amounts of toxic chemicals, seizures may be one of the symptoms. This would be considered a provoked seizure and not epilepsy. Epilepsy is characterized by recurrent unprovoked seizures. Chemicals in the environment do not have an affect on seizures in epilepsy.
