Anxiety and Stress Disorders

Closing my upper lip over my lower lip

06/05/2008 06:33PM

Question:

I`m a 48, almost 49, year-old woman. Attractive, professional. I have a twitch (I guess thats what it is). I often roll my upper lip inward over my lower lip. My fiancee thought at first he was kissing me to hard or his whiskers were aggravating my lip, but I`ve had this for a long time. (Especially when after I shower and making my face and doing my hair before work.) Is this some form of body language I`m not aware of or just a nervous twitch of some kind? Would like to stop.

Answer:

This could be nothing more than a habit.  Once you are aware, you can consciously work to change it every time you notice yourself doing it. Certainly doesn't sound like any subtle body language to me.
