Gum graft surgery07/02/2008 02:52PM |
I have exposed metal line around my porcelain crown on the front tooth, and gum seems to recede there (about 2-3mm). Will you recommend gum graft procedure to fix this problem? Or you would rather advise to replace crown (unfortunately it is part of a bridge)? Thank you for response!
Generally, we are not very successful in closing exposed root surfaces when we have a metal-ceramic restoration on it. A soft tissue graft that we place does not like the metal surface, will not adhere to it, and metal will be still exposed.
