Parotid tumor

Question:

I was diagnosed of having a 1 1/2 cm (or mm) parotid tumor and I am going for a fine needle biopsy. If it is not cancerous, can I just watch and wait? I never knew anything about this until the doctor diagnosed it through a CT scan. Feeling it does not hurt, and I do not want to risk surgery if I do not have to. If I do not have the surgery, what do you think the outcome will be?
