My sore ankle and leg

Question:

for 2 days my ankle has hurt like hell but today the pain has travelled up and around my calf and cold tingling in my toes i have been to see a gp who told me its either gout or inflamed tendons its really painful as the pain is always there can you help me as im non the wiser i dont drink any alcohol
