Swollen lymph nodes08/26/2008 01:57PM |
Hello, I had a question regarding swollen lymph nodes. I have noticed that my right lymph nodes along my neck are a little larger than my left side. I am getting concerned that it might indicate a larger problem? A few things about me, I`m a 28 year old female. Last time at the doctors, all vitals were good and normal. I suffer from year round allergies, chronic post nasal drip for which I use Nasonex and Astelin. I have IBS that is currently under control.I also suffer from Anxiety/panic disorder and I certainly have a tendancy to jump to the worst possible scenario. My main questions are, can you have more prominent lymph nodes on one side without it being serious? I ask because I`m right handed and I have back and neck issues (scolitatic) and my right side of my back is more raised than the left, perhaps this curvature affects how prominent my lymph nodes feel? I hope I`m not grasping too much. I currently feel well, not overly tired, no fevers and anxiety is under control. I have a physical scheduled this week, but I just thought I would ask.
Thank you for any advice.
Although most of the time enlarged lymph nodes or lymph nodes that can be felt are a normal variant in someone your age, an examination by an ENT physician can help place your mind at ease. A physical exam and possible ultrasound of the neck may help guide if a biopsy is warranted.
