Incontinence

Bladder Infection

08/27/2008 11:57AM

Question:

I went to see my doctor because of pains in my abdomen and frequent urinating. He gave me a blood test, a urine test, and he told me I had a bladder infection. But why am I swollen in my lower abdomen? What do you think it could be? I also had a sudden weight gain that I haven`t been able to have in three years.

Answer:

A more thorough workup should be performed probably starting with a CT scan. An infection should not cause swelling of the abdomen so another cause should be sought.
