Question:

My 15 year old daughter just show me her gums. sore and it has a black spot on the gum right above the tooth. What is it? why is it sort?

Answer:

Please take her to a periodontist. I cannot tell you for sure, but teenager patients may experience some periodontal problems mainly due to hormonal changes. Pain on gums is a good sign of it. This also may be related to stress that she may be experiencing. Black spots may be just a piece of calculus sitting under the gum line. But she needs to be seen if she has sore gums.
