Microalbumin creatinine ratio

10/03/2008 05:51AM

Question:

Dear Sir/Madam, can normal creatinine blood level is possible with high microalbumin in urine? Regards.

Answer:

Yes. The serum creatinine, the microscopic urine analysis, and the presence and amount of albumin in the urine are basically the big 3 preliminary lab tests that are analyzed and monitored to evaluate the kidney and reveal when the kidneys are sick. An abnormality of any one of these is cause for concern and may lead to further evaluation and monitoring.
