Head and Neck Cancer

Swollen Glands, Tumors or Lymph Nodes?

10/28/2008 07:18PM

Question:

Hello, Just to drop some previous health conditions down, I have a small growth tumor in my neck under my jaw area. Has not grown in years and causes no pain at all, they had already removed one on the left side of my neck which was an expired spit gland with a growth tumor inside of it which caused pain and was noticeable. I was told they left a tiny piece in there because it was located near a nerve that could disfigure my face. Anyway on this side I have been having weird lumps that last about a week and go down and are quite tender and do bother me when swollen. One is under my jaw, where my tongue rests in my mouth but under neath and in my neck, the second was under my ear, between my jaw bone and main artery the soft tissue in these places is now hard but no longer swollen and painful, now There is one in the back of my neck to the right of my left neck muscle and to the left of my spine directly beneath the bottom of my skull. This one is swollen and hurts. They are more a long shape instead of a round shape almost like a slug or leech under your skin. Is something going on? are they lymph nodes should i be worried. I am not sick anywhere, no sore throat no clogged or dry nose no sinus headaches. I have always been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis but that hasn`t bothered me in a while, has asthma - no longer chronic. I have a copper IUD, and have spine discomfort in the thorax area and lower lumbar to the tail bone affecting hips. I am only 24 years of age. I have no health insurance and no longer any job so just looking for some answers. Thanks!

P.S. When on is swollen there are no other swollen glads present.
