Sarcoidosis |
Could I have sarcoidosis?04/27/2009 |
I recently had a CT scan. I was told that I had multiple nodules in my chest, liver, spleen and lungs which had caused airspace disease. I have a terrible rash on the back of my leg and have lost a large amount of weight . Coul I have sarcoidosis.
Although it is possible that you do have sarcoidosis, it would be necessary to perform further testing, including a biopsy of the affected tissues, to confirm the diagnosis.Sarcoidosis is a "diagnosis of exclusion", meaning that all other possibilities must be considered first. Other possibilities include infections and cancers.
It is important to establish the proper diagnosis because the treatments differ for each of these conditions.
