Not the Same After Thyroid Surgery

05/18/2009

Question:

I had left side of thyroid removed in `06 and have been experiencing tightness around the surgery area and severe pain in the back of my neck since the surgery. I have seen several doctors, had blood work done (more than once) and everything checked out okay. I have even had head and neck MRI`s done and they told me everything looked fine. The discomfort is affecting me being able to sleep at night. I stretch my neck several times throughout the day but it doesn`t seem to help. Please advise.

Answer:

I recommend you speak with your surgeon or seek opinion from a physcial medicine and rehabilitation physician. Physcial therapy may be helpful after their evaluation.
