06/16/2009

Question:

Now that WHO has called it a pandemic is there any vaccines yet?

Answer:

Vaccines for the H1N1 (swine) influenza are not yet available. Several pharmaceutical companies have reported that they have received H1N1 seed influenza virus so that they can develop and manufacture H1N1 vaccines. The website of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/) gives an update on what is currently being done to prevent the spread of H1N1 influenza.
