I take avinza 90 mg once a day and darvocet 100 mg 4 times a day. I find I am sleeping alot more. Is this normal? Is there anything to be concerned about taking both medications. I also take effexor xr and ambien cr
Thank you for visiting NetWellness. Drowsiness is a common side effect when combining pain medications or adding pain medications to medications used for insomnia. Limit driving until you become used to this side effect. Excessive sleepiness would be unusual. Talk with your doctor or personal pharmacist. A decrease in dose or other medication change may be possible solutions. Thank you for your question.Submitted by Reed Kalna, PharmD Candidate
