Ovarian pain

08/24/2009

Question:

starting from last night i`ve been having these really bad pains on both ovaries its so bad that the pain keeps going down my legs, worse on my right side. I do have endometriosis which was treated in december, could it be coming back or should I go to the hospital and get it looked at?

Answer:

Because you have endometriosis, you may note that this pain is similar to the pain you have had in the past because typically most pelvic pain that is thought to be from the ovaries is often times from other organs. Depending on the treatment you had and the extent of your endometriosis, you may need retreatment. You may not need to go to the hospital, but should see your primary ob/gyn or see an ob/gyn in an outpatient setting.
