Chlorine of The Stomach and Carbonate of Mg07/27/2009 |
After ingesting magnesium carbonate or magnesium oxide, presumably magnesium chloride will form in the stomach by taking the chlorine from the stomach`s hydrochloric acid. Will the chlorine eventually be returned to the stomach as hydrochloric acid after the body uses or stores the magnesium?
This would happen in a test tube but not in the stomach due to the protein buffering content.
