Spermatocelectomy Post Op08/04/2009 |
I had a spermatocelectomy 8 days ago and while I feel some tenderness have not had much pain or discomfort and have needed no pain meds whatsoever, even ibuprofen. My wife and I received almost no useful post op information when I was discharged. My doctor has scheduled a follow up visit for seven weeks. When I called up to get some information about when I would be able to resume sex with my wife a nurse told me that I should wait until I saw the doctor. Is it typical to need to wait seven weeks to have sex. Also I was wondering why the doctor is waiting so long for a followup. Is that also typical?
It is typical to wait at least 4 weeks for a follow up appt. By that time everything is healed. As far as intercourse with your wife, if you are not having any dyscomfort there is generally no reason to obstain.
