Monarc Sling Problems

08/11/2009

Question:

Two weeks ago I had a monarc sling procedure done. I had minimal bleeding and hardly any pain, but now I noticed I have a yellow discharge. I have read that the mesh could erode into the vaginal wall or bladder. Could this be the reason for this unusual discharge?

Answer:

Vaginal discharge following pelvic surgery is usually due to yeast infection caused by excessive antibiotic therapy. It also can be caused by inflammation of the incision line. See your surgeon. I don't think Monarc has eroded for erosion has many more symptoms than what you have.
