Cheek Pain After Local Anesthesia

08/19/2009

Question:

My mother was complaining of broken tooth as one of the filling stuff before broke down. she went with me to the dentist to check it up and fill the hole again. The dentist inject her with local anastasia. He told her that there is no need to take the nerve because it did not hit the nerve he only fill it with white stuff. after the visit 2 H she was complaining of cheek pain not tooth pain. It goes around the mandibular area. what can I do for her to relieve it & is there any worry to took here to hospital. Many thanks

Answer:

I am sorry but there is not enough information for me to answer your question. What tooth was worked on? This could be related to the tooth or to the local anesthesia or to a jaw problem. I also have no information on your medical history.

I suggest you contact your dentist for guidance. Best wishes.
