Question:

hello i have been to xray before and after rootcanal therapy as from dentist he has referred me to specialist but before i peeked at resultand have periapical lucency surrouds the roots of the lower right 6th tooth mucus retention cyst floor of the left maxillary sinus my eyes are watering i have constant mucus down the back of my throat for years i am always getting infections colds virus and headachy i have diabetes 2.do i need an ent first or an orthodontist thanx as the orthodontist is expensive to tell me go to ent..

Answer:

If your tooth is bad and you need a root canal, you’ll have to see the dental specialist.  However, your other symptoms are usually treated by an ENT specialist.  A retention cyst along the floor of your sinus is usually of no concern, but recurrent sinus infections with constant post nasal drip may be related to underlying allergies, chronic inflammatory sinus problems, or even acid reflux disease.  An evaluation by an ENT physician should help to sort out these issues.
