Question:
hello….. I have been having a stuffy nose and head ache since many years now, earlier when I visited an ENT he prescribed me nasal spay(fluticasone) . I have been using it for few years now. I visited another docter recently, he asked me to discontinue it and to udergo a surgery. My CT scan reveled slight deviated nasal septum, concha bullosa, paradoxical middle turbinate and my sinuses had pneumatization. I didn`t had sinusitis. should i undergo surgery at earliest? I am quite apprehensive about the surgeries. And will my problem be permanently solved by it? how should I manage till the surgery is done since I was asked to discontinue the nasal sprays?
Answer:
If the nasal sprays were allowing you to breathe well thru your nose than surgery is optional. Although surgery provides a good airway, if you still have underlying issues such as allergy, you may need to continue using the spray anyway.
