Pulmonary Hypertension |
Ankle and Lower Leg Edema in PH10/05/2009 |
I have mild PH ( 45 yrs old). The last several days I have had progressing lower leg and ankle edema. It is pitting in my legs. Can PH cause swelling like this? I have shortness of breath. I am scheduled to see my pulmonologist in a few days. Thanks so much.
Yes, the common symptoms of Pulmonary Hypertension are shortness of breath with activity, fatigue, chest tightness, and light-headedness with activity. Many patients experience ankle or abdominal swelling.
