Hemophilia and Inherited Bleeding Disorders

Can leukemia be associated with Glanzmann`s?

10/09/2009

Question:

ihave just been diagnosed with glanzmanns disease is it possible for leukemia to be associated with it? i also been having symptoms of those of leukemia i was also told that my esoinophils were also low is this a cause for concern?

Answer:

There is no association between Glanzmann's and leukemia.  Glanzmann's is a platelet disorder.  It is associated with increased tendency to bleed, expecially from mucous membranes.  It would not be a cause for low eosinophils.
