Paralyzed Diaphragm10/28/2009 |
I have been diagnosed with "Paralyzed Diaphragm" on one side. As a result, I get severely out of breath after walking a short distance, or even when I slightly exert myself. I am extremely uncomfortable. Can you recommend a pulmonary physician who might be of help to me. I live in New Jersey. Many thanks.
One-sided paralysis of one diaphragm can cause shortness of breath and discomfort but should not cause severe symptoms . I presume that an assessment has been done to find out what could be causing the paralysis. Sometimes no definite cause can be found . You may want to discuss with your doctor if there is anything else contributing to your symptoms.
You may wish to visit the Medical Society of New Jersey website at http://www.msnj.org/ and click on the Physician Finder link.
Best wishes.
