Tiny Bumps on Tongue

Question:

Two weeks ago my mouth & toungue started to swell. after a few hours of noticing that I could not taste anything I realize that i was feeling bumps on my tongue. When I looked in the mirror I could see the bumps clear as day they were red & it hurt when i ate or drank anything mildly hot. after about 3 days it went away. a week later the same thing. then it went away again but came back today (9/30/09) after only being going for about 4 days. i have not changed my eating habbits other than move vegetables. please help

Answer:

This is likely a case of lie bumps (transient lingual papillitis).
